Greek is a rather difficult language for Westerners. First of all, the alphabet is not the same. Which is very confusing at first. To familiarize yourself a little with the Greek language, you will have to learn the alphabet and pronunciation. You will have to forget everything you have learned about pronunciation… or almost! Thus, B is not pronounced “bé”, but “vé”, H (or η in lower case) is pronounced “i”, P is pronounced “r”.
In short, you will have understood, you will need a little training and practice. But rest assured, all the signs, tourist information and menus in restaurants are translated into English (or written phonetically)! The Greeks are aware that they are the only ones who speak Greek and everything is provided for tourists.
